In paintings, I look for the gap that exists between different qualities of the painted object: the symbolic and the material, the representation and the subject, composition and colours, Flat and effect of depth, reality and interpretation, …

By combining different matters, I discover shades of colours and variation of shapes that I couldn’t imagine at first. Thanks to this complexity, painting offers different levels of reading. I need time and to turn around to decode them. I look for constructing the figure and considering the abstract way to make it. The space between recognisable signs and unidentifiable gestures opens the viewer’s imagination.

The pathes get us lost or/and reassured. I love to see how memory and objective observation can disturb or enrich each other. With the pleasure from this poetry, I work to raise these sensations.
